say hello to suhail, our site navigator altair's less annoying and way more useful neighbor!

unlike a certain white-haired individual who just bitches at you in javascript, suhail is intended to be an easy-to-use, lightweight and simple companion program for sony walkman MP3 players. and by companion program, i mean he helps you make playlists. also written in python.

after sony shut down its programs intended to be used with the walkman line of MP3 players and introduced the shittiest replacement in the world, it has become nearly impossible to make playlists seamlessly for your walkman device — especially if yours happens to be a japanese one with incompatible encoding! that got me so pissed i decided to pull an all-nighter and learn python. and i actually managed to make something useful for once!

with suhail, anyone who can execute simple file management tasks can easily make M3U playlists based on a root music folder and choose the encoding format that's right for their walkman or other device. you can also load and edit pre-existing M3U files without having to wrestle with needlessly complicated media management software. as a bonus, you have suhail to keep you company! he's nowhere near as bad as altair is!
